Shattered Vows (Midnight Manor Book 2) by P. Rayne ~ Book Review

Shattered Vows by P. Rayne is now live!

Once upon a time, I thought I’d found my happy ever after. Until she ruined it all.

I’d been on the hunt for four long years, and I finally found her.

I planned the perfect revenge. Kidnapping Rapsody on the day she was set to marry another man and forcing her to face my wrath while trapped in the confines of my family’s gothic manor.

Despite my desire to punish her, there is still an undeniable pull between us. But as the walls of the manor close in around us, we both have to confront the truth. Can we trust each other, or will my dark past consume us both?

SHATTERED VOWS is a dark contemporary romance that weaves together the themes of desire and redemption and is a Rapunzel reimagining with the following tropes: age gap, anti-hero, gothic romance, secret society, forced proximity, opposites attract, enemies to lovers, morality chain, billionaire, and second chance.

Kol and Rapsody's story is a dark Rapunzel retelling that you won't want to miss. I fell in love with these two right away, in fact, I had just finished listening to MOONLIT THORNS and dove right into this book because I couldn't wait to see who would be the one to crack Kol's tough exterior.

Kol met Rapsody just before his final tour in the Military, they fell in love hard and fast and were set to get married but she never showed up at the courthouse and left town without a trace. Fast forward four years and Kol has found her. It's not as easy as that, nope he goes and kidnaps her right from the church as she's about to get married to someone else!

Now, I thought Kol's older brother Asher was the Beast in the family but Kol's growls and roars are nothing to sneeze at. His Pride comes into play when he thinks someone is in the wrong, which is why Rapsody gets locked in the tower of Midnight Manor once he brings her home. YIKES!

Rapsody has led a very sheltered life so once Kol lets her start exploring she vows to try new things, one of them being her sexuality. Oh, the fun she and Kol have in the Brothers Private BDSM Club and out of it is yummy.

There is so much going on in this story you forget it's a retelling until you finish it and start thinking about how they reimagined all the key parts. Which in my opinion is fantastic because you don't want to read a carbon copy of the original book, so well done ladies, well done.

I recommend this book to readers who enjoy STEAMY Dark Romances, Fairytale Retellings, Age Gap Romances, Billionaire Romances, Second Chance Romances, Enemies to Lovers Romances, Forced Proximity Romances, or Small Town Romances.

Happy Reading!!!
