His to Cherish (Fireside, #3)

His to Cherish by Stacey Lynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I read His to Protect the events at the end of the story set up this book so I knew, I knew that this would be a book I needed to read when my husband and kids weren't home. I cried from page one through just about the entire book. I had to take a few breaks because I couldn't see the words on the page through my tears. Being a parent of four kids I worry about them everyday and hope and pray that no harm will come to them, well in this story Aiden is dealt every parents worst nightmare. Parents are not meant to bury their children, we are suppose to watch them grow, fall in love, and start families of their own. Unfortunately page one of the prologue starts with Derrick having a fatal skateboarding accident; talk about ripping your heart out. Man! Devastating!

Aidan and Chelsea have admired one another from a far, each of them feeling the attraction but not doing anything about it until that fateful day changes everything. I liked the slow progression of their friendship/relationship, nothing felt rushed and the story progressed over a seven month period that left us with a HFN and the knowledge that a HEA would be happening. The chemistry between the two was phenomenal even through the pain and grief they were both dealing with you could feel the want and need from both of them.

I have been enjoying this series immensely but I have to say that this story right here is the one that will slay you. It's a must read with a box of tissues and some chocolates nearby....and maybe a very large glass of wine.
