Tate Blackthorne hasn't had an easy life, but none of that matters now because he's a multi-billionaire and he's getting his revenge on the people who had wronged him. His personal assistant, Gia Bennett, is also at his mercy, but she's unaware of just how dire her situation is until she needs his help.
There is so much going on in this story, I am not going to give any spoilers. Here's what you need to know: darker themes, mental illness rep., spicy, organized crime, blood and gore, did I mention spicy? I highly recommend checking the TW/CW list because Tate isn't your regular morally grey character; he's more on the pitch-black side of things.
I am fairly new to L.J. Shen's books, but so far, I am liking what I am reading. HANDSOME DEVIL is the third and final book in the FORBIDDEN LOVE SERIES, but it has opened a whole new world, and along with that comes a new series. I cannot wait for the SOCIETY OF VILLAINS SERIES to begin later this year.
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy SPICY Romantic Suspense, Enemies to Lovers Romance, Workplace Romance, Marriage of Convenience Romances, and Dark Romances. If you love it when the Villain gets the HEA, this one is for you, too.
