Baxter “Baz” Wicked is the Town of Bayside's Vet, also known as Mr. Husband Material, by all the single women in and around the small town. But he has no interest in settling down, so when a frantic and very pregnant Emerson Lockhart rushes her dog, Ollie, to his office after the dog eats some chocolate chips to have him checked out, he's surprised about the intense feelings stirring inside him.
Emerson has been alone for a very long time, so she didn't think twice about moving to a new town, heck, a new state, while eight months pregnant. But as things progress with the pushy biker, she wonders if others didn't play a hand in pushing her his way.
I love Melissa Foster's books, and you will hear that every time I read one of them and recommend one or more of them. The way she writes pulls you into the story and has you hanging on every word as if you have a vested interest in what happens with each couple and their family and friends. I think I should keep track of how fast I start to cry with each book; this one was in chapter 5, not right away, but close enough that you can see how well she writes to pull such emotions out of me so quickly.
Baz, Emerson, Little B, and Ollie will have you rooting for them immediately. They are all great together. From Little B's entrance to the world to Baz's promise that he needs to keep, some funny moments and moments that are tearjerkers, Melissa will keep you on your toes with this read. You never know when either emotion will pop, so be careful if reading in public and ensure you have tissues handy just in case.
