I LOVED this book. From Cal's quirkiness to Row's saltiness, they had me hanging onto every word they shared. If you enjoy a story with good banter, this one is for you!
This story spans several years. We start when Calla "Cal" Litvin is a senior getting ready to leave for college in New York and then fast-forward about five or six years to when she returns home. She hasn't had any contact with Row during this time, but that doesn't mean she has forgotten him or his sister, who was once her best friend.
Ambrose "Row" Casablancas is back in his hometown, opening a pop-up restaurant while building a home for his mother and sister. He is a world-renowned chef and holds a few Michelin stars, but he isn't a person his small town is a fan of, and they have no problem letting him know their dislike of him.
This is a long book, and once you start, you won't want to put it down, so I highly recommend finding time to curl up with your favorite drink and this book and not let real life get in the way.
I need to mention the chapters; if you are a fan of nineties music, some of the chapters have a song listed that was spot on for that chapter. Or, if you are a fan of the HULU, show THE BEAR. You will get a lot of that show feeling when Row is at work, which I absolutely loved!
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy STEAMY Contemporary New Adult Romances, Grumpy/Sunshine Romances, He Falls First Romances, Best Friends Sibling Romances, Workplace or Boss/Employee Romances, Second Chance at Love Romances, or Small Town Romances.
