I said it when I read the prequel, The Mercer Curse, and I'll say it again, "I love being back in Tess and Q's world".
In this first full length book of The Jewelry Box Series we find that Henri is trying to get into the dark world of trafficking and he finds himself in a bit of a predicament, either he gets in kills the Master Jeweler and frees the all of the Jewels, or he dies at his half brother's hands. Q is on a mission to rid the world of these types and Henri having a bit of a monster inside himself is the perfect person to help him get in The Jewelry Box, a world he has found is almost impenetrable. But what will it cost Henri if he does get in? I can tell you, this book is not for the faint of heart so be sure to read all of the trigger warnings.
Ily never knew how one look could change the course of not only her evening but her entire life. The chemistry is definitely bubbling between Henri and Ily, so much so that even the voices in her head have Ily doing things that she normally wouldn't.
Pepper Winters is gifting lovers of the Monsters in the Dark Series with a sensational spin-off, but fear not, if you haven't read that series this one can be read all on its own. I would recommend that you read Q and Tessa's story at some point because it was oh so good! If you listen to audiobooks, I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook version because Luke William Bromley and Lucy Jessica did a superb job with bringing Henri and Ily to life, I honestly believe they enhanced this story for me, so yes if you do audio definitely listen to this one.
This is dark, erotic, and a bit twisted...so for all of you other Dark Romance Lovers out there I recommend this book to you.
