You've Got Mail is one of my favorite Rom-Com, so it's no surprise that I enjoyed Huxley and Enid's story.
Enid has just inherited a bookstore and cottage from the maternal grandmother she never knew, so she decided to quit her job, follow her dreams of owning a bookstore, and move across the country to the small town of Paradise Bay.
That is when she meets the devilishly handsome Huxley Spearman, who is beside himself with the knowledge that he is out a boatload of money that he gave her grandmother as a deposit on the bookstore. Still, she passed away before they could finalize the deal; no further explanation is needed to know why Hux is a Grump. But things only get more interesting as time goes on with these two.
I loved the way Enid confided in her online friend, telling him all of her problems and he is the one that convinced her to quit her job and follow her dreams, so it's only normal that she would start to have feelings for him after years of taking to him and gaming with him. It's something we all take for granted with social media these days, we are so open with others beyond the screens, but what happens when you meet them face to face and they know so much about you, and maybe they know things that no one else knows how do you handle that? We find out how Hux and Enid handle that and so much more in MEANT FOR ME.
I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook version, and I must say that Stephanie Németh-Parker and Chris Brinkley did a fantastic job with the narration of this story. I loved the dual narration, especially when the texting between Enid and Huxley was happening; going back and forth between the two narrators like a real conversation is being held is something I really enjoyed.
I recommend this book to those that enjoy Steamy Contemporary Romances, Small Town Romances, Billionaire Romances, Grumpy/Sunshine Romances, Fish out of Water Romances, or Enemies to Lovers Romances.
