Six years ago, I made a mistake. The worst mistake I could have ever possibly made. I fell in love with the wrong person and … I told him.

Ryan’s always been with me ever since I can remember. It’s been the two of us—side by side. Through every new beginning, every new ‘family’, and every failure. Is it any wonder that the love I had for him turned into something different—something deeper? Something utterly rotten? And is it any wonder that he hates me for it now?

I’m a damaged soul, and she’s the only thing that’s ever held me together. But the one woman I want is the one woman I can never have.

She thinks I hate her for her confession, and maybe a part of me does. What I hate more, though, is that I have to push her away to keep her safe. That I have to pretend like I don’t fucking want her when she’s all I’ve been able to think about for the last six years.

We’re no fucking Romeo and Juliet. We’re much worse than that. A love like ours was doomed from the start.

You may wondering why I have four stars and three stars posted and it's because I am in between the two, lets call it 3.5 stars. I did enjoy this read, there are parts that I really liked and parts that were ehh. But overall it was a good read that I would recommend to others.

Lucy Smoke is a new to me author so I really didn't know what to expect going into this book but I do know many of my book friends have read and LOVED her previous books so there really wasn't any hesitancy on reading it even after I read the Authors Note. While reading parts of the story I  had to keep reminding myself about the Authors Note, so that I could come to grips with the Taboo aspect of the story because it's just wrong on so many levels. The ending, well lets just say that came out of left field, I swear I usually pick up on these things but that one blindsided me.

Willow and Ryan have an unusual love/hate relationship and it's completely justified on both sides. After not seeing one another for six years they run into each other on their college campus where Ryan is a star quarterback. There is a lot of bullying that goes on in this book so be warned if that's a trigger for you.

I would recommend this book to those that enjoy Dark Romances, Taboo Romances, or Bully Romances. I would also highly suggest reading the Authors Note so you have all the info you need before going into the story, yes she does give a spoiler but it's one that you may want to know.

Happy Reading!!!

**I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine's Obsessed with Books**
