This was my first...and NO I CANNOT BELIEVE IT MYSELF....book by Nikki Sloane. I have several books on my TBR shelf but for one reason or another just haven't gotten to them. This story had so much more promise for me but fell a little short. It was a steamy read for sure but the story itself could have been....I don't know just more.

Cassidy and her boyfriend Preston have been together for three years but she's getting tired of the way he treats, he's basically just using her for sex at this point and it becomes crystal clear that she is not his number one priority after her grandmothers passing so she breaks up with him. I have to warn you that he really doesn't get the hint though.....

Dr. Greg Lowe, now this man is quite interesting. Here is a man that knows what he wants and goes after it. Of course you know there has to be some angst so be prepared for that. Was there a lot sexy time? Yes, absolutely and it was HOT! Was there a lot of angst? No, and I think this is what I felt was lacking. I think the overall story was good but it could have been better, honestly I guess it was Preston that was the overall disappointment but hey this wasn't his story so maybe he'll get his HEA down the road with the nosy neighbor and redeem himself in my eyes.

This was a good start to a new series by Nikki Sloane, I will be continuing this series and reading the other books by her that are on my TBR shelf soon. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good May/December Romance with a bit of a Taboo factor (Since Cassidy is now with her ex-boyfriends father I would consider that a little taboo) and a whole lot of heat!  Happy Reading!!!

Nikki Sloane landed in graphic design after her careers as a waitress, a screenwriter, and a ballroom dance instructor fell through. For eight years she worked for a design firm in that extremely tall, black, and tiered building in Chicago that went through an unfortunate name change during her time there. Now she lives in Kentucky and manages a team of graphic artists. She is married and has two sons, writes dirty books, and couldn't be any happier.
