Synopsis:

For the first time in his life, Wes Ahern has encountered something—someone—he can't fix. Not with his hands, his words, not even with his love.

His head tells him Abby had to get out of Colorado to heal from the nightmare that nearly took her from him. To mend her wounded body, piece her broken spirit back together, and find out who she is behind the mask she felt forced to wear. His first instinct was always to protect her. Still is. But as he faces his own pain, an agonizing realization dawns: that while he needs her more than his next breath, the best place for her may not be with him. Because while he always had her back, the secrets they kept—even from each other—have the power to destroy them. When their paths cross again, will their souls still recognize each other? Note: Back to You is the conclusion of the Chaotic Love Duet. Often dark and sometimes jarring, this book also contains references to childhood trauma, rape, kidnapping, and PTSD.

First things first, you MUST read Begin with You BEFORE you read Back to you! This duet follows Abby Lyons from the time she was placed with Wes Ahern's family as a foster child. Bad things happened to her and were witnessed by her, things you wouldn't wish on anyone let alone a child. Claudia DOES NOT go into detail but she does paint the picture so be warned if such things are triggers for you.

Claudia is one of my favorite authors and with characters like Wes and Abby its no wonder. They are both a bit broken in their own ways but they are perfect together. They started as friends and then tried for more in the first book which left us with a crazy ass cliffhanger, while I had hoped they would find their way right back to one another that didn't happen. This book spans over several years in that time both Abby and Wes make changes to their lives that didn't include the other. WHAT?!?! Yes it is true but no worries because we do get a HEA at the end of it all and quite frankly the way Claudia had things play out spoke volumes about the writer she is, you can tell a lot of thought and research went into the events that took place, which I absolutely loved.

We get to see some characters from previous books like Luna, Harrison, Anderson, and so on but no worries if you haven't read their books yet but fair warning once you meet them you'll want to know more about each of them. I am anxiously awaiting Sterling's book, Wes's brother may have a revolving bedroom door but there is a reason for that and I cannot wait to get to the bottom of it.

I highly recommend this duet to anyone that enjoys a darker contemporary or a lighter dark read, does that make sense? I thinks so...anyway, I think Wes will win you over just like he did Abby so Happy Reading!!!
