I have been enjoying this series but I must admit that Rurik has been my favorite of the series thus far. Rurik is the third book in the Brothers of Ash and Fire Series and although it can be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading the entire series in order that way you do not miss a bit of how the three brothers find their true mates and you will understand the common thread of fighting with another dragon that runs throughout the three books.

Charlotte MacQueen is a biochemist and her brothers are the leaders of the Brotherhood. This doesn't bode well for a relationship because Charlotte's brothers are Hunters....Dragon Hunters! I tried to figure out how on earth Rurik and Charlotte would get their HEA and I was stumped because these two families have been enemies for many, many, many years.

This book has a lot of twist and turns and I absolutely loved it all. My heart broke for Rurik, all his life he was told by his father that he was not to mate because he was the protector of the family and that is where his loyalty had to be. Rurik watched one woman he loved die, and even though they hadn't mated he felt it right to his core, so as determined as ever he was going to remain alone as his father had wished. Well, that was until he met Charlotte.

I enjoyed watching Charlotte and Rurik not only fall in love like Romeo and Juliet but I really liked the way they switched things up so they didn't end up like the Capulets and Montagues. This was a great read that I recommend to anyone that loves a good PNR Romance.
