Harmless (Pier 70 #4) by Nicole Edwards (Review)

Harmless
(Pier 70 #4)
by Nicole Edwards

HE'S GOT A SECRET...
Roan Gregory, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has managed to paint himself as a loner in recent months. There’s a reason for that. And he’s got every intention of keeping that reason a secret. That is, until he no longer has the option.

HE'S GOT A SECRET, TOO...
Colton Seguine, defenseman for the Austin Arrows, has gotten good at keeping the world from finding out that he’s gay. He knows exactly what he can and cannot do. And with whom. That is, until he sees Roan for the first time and all bets are off.

SOME SECRETS ARE TOO BIG TO KEEP
Temperatures soar when this brooding bad boy gets his first taste of this smoking hot hockey player.

Can Roan and Seg push past each other’s defenses? Or, thanks to the way the cards have been dealt, will the time they spent together prove to be just a harmless one night stand?

I hadn't read any of the Pier 70 books before this one but believe me I will be going back and reading ALL OF THEM! This book wasn't only HOT it had two of the most likable characters that I instantly wanted things to work out with as little angst as possible. Alas that is not what happened, sadly both Roan and Seg were dealt pretty crappy hands with certain situations but it all works out in the end so no worries they do get their HEA.

It's hard to write this review without giving to much of the plot away so I will be as vague as possible.
The book starts off when Roan and Seg meet about a year before the actual story takes place and they had a heated one night stand that neither can forget. Since then there have been things going on in Roan's life that he finds that the only thing the can do is distance himself from his friends and everyone around him in order to keep the secret of all secrets. But you know that secrets have a way of coming out and when they do you just have to hope that it all works out. This holds true for Seg as well because he is also hiding something, something that he fears will change his life if it came out.

Love conquers all is a phrase that fits this book perfectly.
I have enjoyed many of Nicole Edwards books and I have to say that Roan and Seg are a close favorite right behind Ethan and Beau (Alluring Indulgence #5).
