Cade (Le Beau Brothers, #1) by V.A. Dold (Review)

Cade
(Le Beau Brothers, #1)
by V.A. Dold

Anna James is single again, finally. In her opinion, men are self-centered and will never love her for who she is, a beautiful, plus sized woman. All except the fantasy man that she’s been meeting in her dreams for five years.

She just never expected her fantasy to be a real live alpha shifter...

Cade Le Beau isn't what he seems. He’s a billionaire wolf. A Shifter. He laments his missed chance six months ago to meet his fantasy woman in the flesh. Just as his second chance presents itself, his fantasy woman, his mate, is threatened by the local mob boss and her ex-husband. Now, he has forty eight hours to deal with this threat once and for all or chance losing her again.

Is it Anna who’s in danger, or the humans who unwittingly threaten her?

The heat is on the moment they lay eyes on each other. Neither, age, children, horrid ex-husbands, nor mob bosses will stop this love affair.

Not sure what happened with this one but I just couldn't get into it. It could be that I am just getting off of a book high and this one fell terribly short.

Anna is recently divorced but her ex-husband is a psycho and follows her to New Orleans, she wasn't good enough for him when they were married but he doesn't want to let her go now that they are divorced...his motive? Money, I guess she has quite a bit because he is always hitting her up for a loan (which he will never pay back) I did like the fact that she is a BBW in her 40s with two grown sons that are doing well for themselves so they aren't moochers.

Cade comes from a royal lineage of shifters, he is the eldest of the seven brothers - I liked his interactions with his brother Stefan, but it was his parents that I really liked. Cade owns most of New Orleans and is always looking for new restaurants to invest in.

Cade and Anna have an interesting connection, they have actually had dreams of their perfect person and carry on a relationship through their dreams before they even met! This happens over a five year period so once they actually do meet their relationship takes off like they have been together those five years even though they just met.

I am on the fence about continuing this series, there were enough good parts that I just might but I wont be running out to buy the next book.
