Distraction (Club Destiny #8) by Nicole Edwards (Review)

Distraction

(Club Destiny #8)
by Nicole Edwards

Time doesn’t always heal a broken heart. Sometimes the only thing it does is fill the darkness with more shadows, more pain.

Dylan Thomas has spent the past decade living in the shadows, mourning the loss of his wife, his best friend, his very reason for breathing. He long ago accepted that he would never feel again, that he was damned to a world without light, without hope. That was the day the bottle won, and he gave himself over to the darkness.

Until the one night that rocked his brittle, crumbling world on its axis. She told him what they shared was simply a distraction, a way to forget for a little while. It would’ve been, except the tiny glimpse of how it feels to live again, to feel again, gives him the strength he needs to pull himself up by his boot straps. But sobriety comes one day at a time, and three years later may be three years too late.

This book had me crying, laughing, shaking my head, and a whole bunch of other emotions. Nicole definitely did Dylan story justice, and it was definitely worth the wait.

If you haven't read the entire series, no worries you can still read Dylan & Sarah's story and you wont feel lost. As a matter of fact that's exactly what I did. I read the first few books in the series a while ago where Dylan was a secondary character and then I jumped into this book when I had the opportunity to read an advanced readers copy and LOVED IT!

Sarah and Dylan dated briefly in high school before they parted ways, life had gone on for both of them Dylan married and had two kids and Sarah married as well. Years have past and they both have had devastating losses that they are still dealing with. Dylan is now 42 and Sarah is 38, they're friends, and maybe just maybe its time for them to move on to their next chapter.

This story was a very deep one, be prepared to shed some tears...maybe a lot of tears, I know I did. Dylan definitely pulled at my heartstrings. I felt every emotion that he was going through and damn if I didn't want a drink a time or two while reading his devastating story.

Sarah, she was great, I loved her and she would be someone that I could see myself as friends with. She is down to earth with a heart of gold, she is a giver, a person that would do anything for someone that she was friends with, and unfortunately some people will walk all over a person with those attributes and when that happens, watch out!

Dylan and Sarah have amazing chemistry, they are great together...so much so that you wonder why things didn't work out for them went they were together so many years ago. As with other books by Nicole Edwards the sexy times were extremely HOT! Be warned that you may want your significant other or BOB available to you while reading, you'll also want to keep some ice water close by. ;)

This is another HIT from Nicole Edwards, and an Absolute fantastic ending of the Club Destiny Series, while it's sad that this series has come to an end there is some good news....there is a spin-off series in the works that is based on Trent's new project, and from the sounds of it it will be even hotter and more intense than this series was. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
