Bender by Gene Gant
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This being my first Gene Gant book I wasn't sure what to expect, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. This book had a lot going for it, likable characters, a good story line, and most of all a deep emotional ride.
I loved Mace, he was a complex character, although he was an escort he didn't enjoy sex, and the reasons for him becoming an escort was much more than just needing to pay for college. There were a few twists and turns in this story including one that was a bit difficult to read about. I especially enjoyed the relationship between Mace and Dax, there was a tender touch when Dax dealt with Mace and I appreciated the "kid gloves" he used at times.
Overall this was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more of Gene Gant's work.
***I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I requested from Harmony Ink Press through Netgalley*** https://www.netgalley.com/
