Harvest Season in Kentbury (Kentbury Tales, #5) by Claudia Y. Burgoa ~ Book Review
Kentbury feels less like a detour and more like a place I don’t want to leave.
Harvest Season in Kentbury, an all-new second-chance, small-town, contemporary romance from USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa, is now available!
I came to Kentbury to recover.
A heart attack has a way of forcing you to slow down, even if you’re not ready.
My family insisted I take a break from my relentless life in Boston, dragging me to this small town where the only thing on my to-do list is co-chairing the Pumpkin Festival.
Simple, right?
Then I meet Meadow—an artist with fiery red hair and a smile that feels like sunlight after a long storm. She’s juggling a gallery opening, family obligations, and town festivals, making it all look easy. But in her eyes is a woman who knows what it’s like to carry too much.
What starts as awkward small-talk turns into long hours together, decorating pumpkins, and stealing glances. Suddenly, Kentbury feels less like a detour and more like a place I don’t want to leave.
But life back in Boston waits for me, and it’s only a matter of time before I have to go. The question is—can I walk away from the first thing that’s made my heart feel whole in a long time?

I enjoyed being back in the quaint town of Kentbury, Vermont, where people visit and become part of the town's fabric. In this story, we have another of the McFolley siblings, Raffa, making his journey to Kentbury, but it isn't of his own free will. You see, Raffa suffered a heart attack, and the doctor instructed him to stay stressfree and relax for the next several weeks while his heart mends, but the workaholic lawyer doesn't know what that means, so three of his siblings who already live in Kentbury bring him back there with him to get him far away from his Boston Law Firm and force him to do as the doctor says.
Raffa decides to take this time to get to know the grandmother he never met, Genie. However, she has other plans for him, namely having him co-chair the Fall Festival with Meadow, a beautiful Artist recovering from a bad breakup. I loved his grumpy attitude with her sunshiny one. They worked well together, and you know how much I love it when they say they aren't going to get involved with someone no matter how attracted they are; well, we have that time two in this read. YAY! Needless to say, the chemistry was strong, but they did hold out for a long time, so be warned, this is a slooooow burn.
Claudia has added another couple to the Town of Kentbury, and I am super excited to see what she has in store for the last two McFolley siblings. Still, I have to confess I am most excited about Paul's story since we have been teased with him throughout the series.
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy Contemporary Romances, Grumpy/Sunshine Romances, Age Gap Romances, Forced Proximity Romances, He Falls First Romances, Emotional Healing Romances, Small Town Romances, or Slow Burn Romances.
