Code Name: Rook (Jameson Force Security #6) by Sawyer Bennett ~ Book Review

Code Name: Rook (Jameson Force Security, Book #6) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: October 27, 2020

Synopsis:
Being a highly skilled operative for a company like Jameson Force Security is exhilarating and important work…until it comes time to date. I like to keep my profession under wraps for a number of reasons. Some of what we do is top secret, most of what we do is dangerous, and more than one woman has tried to latch onto me because she was more enamored with what I do than who Cage Murdock really is. And since I’m more of a ‘here for the night’ than a ‘here for forever’ kind of guy, what’s the harm in a little white lie about my job?

My harmless deceit has never failed me. Until now. Because I met the most amazing woman and did the unthinkable. I married her. And now my beautiful, unsuspecting, probably-going-to-leave-my-sorry-behind-when-she-finds-out-the-truth wife doesn’t know that I’m not a used car salesman like I told her when we met.

As it typically does with lies, the truth is about to come out in a big way when Jaime unwittingly gets herself mixed up with some unsavory characters and I, along with the team at Jameson, have to intervene. Now I need to save my girl and hope I can save my marriage too. Let’s just say I have some serious explaining to do.

MY FAVORITE OF THE SERIES! I loved Cage and Jaime together they have great chemistry and are comfortable just talking and hanging out, I think Jaime called them effortless which I would agree with because they didn't have to put on a show to impress one another they were just perfect....well except for one little thing. You know the saying once you start with a lie it only grows...well that is exactly what happens here. Cage is not a forever type of guy, he's the resident playboy at Jameson Force Security so he has a list of "boring" jobs that he uses when he's looking for a one night stand that way the woman he's hooking up with doesn't get doe eyes when she thinks his job is sexy. That all backfires on him when he's out for drinks one night after a mission gone well and Jaime approaches him, he tells her he's a used car sales man but after spending time with her he finds he actually wants to spend more than just one night with her. Ladies if Cage was selling used cars I think we'd all be lined up looking for a new set of wheels...just sayin' Jaime is a powerhouse! She is a social worker that helps women and their children leave their abusive spouses, she volunteers at a shelter, and she is a downright good person. One thing she doesn't like is liars, oh and cheaters. She has an older brother that has been borrowing money from her and she knows he's not telling her the truth about why he needs it but she doesn't realize that she is being put in harms way by him. This story runs parallel to Code Name: Ghost which is Malik and Anna's story so we have some scenes that overlap in this book but we get it from a different aspect and it was fun to see how things played out. I have been really enjoying this series and while each book can be read as a standalone I suggest reading the series in order of release because you will see most of the characters in the various books since it's about a group of people that work together. But like I said this can be read as a standalone if that is the way you choose to read it. Happy Reading!!!
