Dream Maker (Dream Team #1) by Kristen Ashley ~ Book Review

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Dream Man and Rock Chick series comes a brand new story about love, friendship, and the bonds of sisterhood.

Evie is a bonafide nerd and a hyper-intelligent chick who has worked her whole life to get what she wants. Growing up, she had no support from her family and has only ever been able to rely on herself. So when Evie decides she wants to earn her engineering degree, she realizes she needs to take an alternative path to get there. She takes a job dancing at Smithie's club thinking this would be a quick side gig, where she can make the money she needs. But with her lack of dancing skills and an alpha bad boy who becomes overly protective, Evie realizes this might not be as easy as she thought.

Daniel "Mag" Magnusson knows a thing or two about pain, but the mask he wears is excellent. No one can tell that this good-looking, quick-witted, and roguish guy has deep-seated issues. Mag puts on a funny-guy routine so he can hide his broken heart and PTSD. But when Evie dances her way into Mag's life, he realizes that he needs to come face-to-face with the demons of his past if he wants a future with her.

"Jesus Christ, did you not hear me" Hawk bit off. "This crew is not taking on the next generation of Rock Chicks."

Oh how wrong he was...LOL This is definitely the next generation of Rock Chicks and I LOVED THEM! This is Kristen Ashley at her finest, writing about kick-ass heroines and the alpha males that move heaven and earth for them.

First one up to get her HEA is Evan, Evie is one of Smithies girls. Lottie has taken it upon herself to play matchmaker and pair up each of Smithies girls with a Commando that works with Mo, which no one is happy about....I found it kinda comical the way they're all fighting it.

Evan and Mag have both been putting off their blind date until they each finally give in and decide to go out just to get Lottie off their backs, but as you can imagine things do not go as they had anticipated.

Danny aka Mag, has entered Evie's life just when she needed him the most and although things started off rocky for them, in true KA fashion she had Danny and Evan fighting not only their feelings for one another but also the bad guys.

I really enjoyed this spin off to both the ROCK CHICK SERIES and the DREAM MAN SERIES, and it was great seeing all of the old crew again along with some of the guys from the CHAOS MC SERIES.

If you enjoy Romantic Suspense with a lot of heat that involve a nerdy klutz of a girl that everyone loves...even the bad guy and an alpha male that only has eyes for the nerdy klutzy girl this is the book for you!

Happy Reading!!!

About Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing's changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she's blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
