I have a ton of Carly Phillips' books on my TBR shelf but this is the first one I have read....what’s taken me so long?!?!? I have no idea, but I have said this time and time again THANK YOU to 1,001 Dark Nights for bringing us these novellas. Books like this one gives the authors a chance to bring readers characters they normally wouldn't have written a story for and it gives readers a chance to enter the series without having to start from the beginning.
Amber is a single mom raising her son after his father died in a college hazing accident when they were in college. L.J., who is now ten, is going to spend the summer with his grandparents so Amber has the chance to settle in their new house and start classes since she has decided to return to school to finish her degree.
Professor Shane Warden doesn't quite know what hit him when he bumps into the lovely Amber one night, but after a nice dinner together he cannot get her out of his head. Shane has been scorned before by a student so when he learns that Amber is in his summer economics class he's not to happy.
The chemistry was great and I loved this story so much it had me adding the other books in the series to my ever growing TBR shelf. There is of course some angst but it's quickly dealt with and did explain a lot about the Professors past.
I definitely recommend this story to anyone that has read the Sexy Series, lovers of the Student/Teacher Romance Trope, and anyone that is looking for a hot quick read.
