HATE ME UNDER THE MISTLETOE was a sweet and steamy read that had a just enough angst to liven things up. Amy Heller's life has just crashed and burned or at least that's the way it feels after she finds out not only that her boyfriend has been cheating on her but also that he's interviewed for the same job that she was hoping to get. So she decides to get away instead of spending Christmas with her family. She was in need of some alone time, but the universe had other plans for her. Ryder is a true workaholic but he takes time every Christmas to spend it with his family in GARLAND GROVE, and this year his business partner convinced him to take a couple of days and go to his families cabin since it is close to where he's going and he'll have a few days to unwind before the big family gathering. What neither of them expected is that the cabin already had an occupant. Amy and Ryder have a past, one that didn't end on good terms and left Amy hating him. I love that even though this cabin had two bedrooms Kelly Jamieson found a way to force them to be closer. This was a fun read, I really enjoyed the banter between Amy and Ryder and the chemistry was great. I will be honest and say that I wish this story was longer because I wanted more of them which is why I gave it four stars, I felt as if the story ended to soon and I'm wondering if that's because it's the first in the new series and they will pop up in other books, maybe? I hope at some point we are given an extended version or maybe a special epilogue for newsletter subscribers...something...anything. Amy is part of the HELLER BROTHERS Family and her brother Josh found his HEA in YOU HAD ME AT HOCKEY, so it's nice to see that she has finally gotten her HEA as well. You do not need to read any of the other books to enjoy this one, this is a complete standalone from them. If you enjoy Steamy Contemporary Romances, Enemies-to-Lovers Romances, Force Proximity Romances, or Sports Romances I would recommend this book to you.
